Shayne Skov joined Stanford Athletics as Executive Associate Athletic Director for Strategy, Data & Analytics in September 2025.

In this role, Skov leads the development and execution of an evidence-based strategy for the long-term success of the Athletic Department, integrating qualitative and quantitative insights across business development and recruiting, including the buildout of Stanford's analytics operation.

Prior to joining Stanford, Skov spent several years at McKinsey & Company, departing as an Associate Partner. He advised C-suite executives on growth strategy, transformation, and M&A — primarily across Medical Device and Advanced Manufacturing industries — and helped Fortune 500 companies deliver enterprise-wide transformation programs exceeding $100M in impact. Skov transitioned directly into consulting following four years in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.

Skov returns to The Farm as a Stanford alumnus, having earned his BS in Management Science and Engineering in 2013 while playing linebacker for the Cardinal. A standout defender, Skov earned First Team All-Pac-12 and Third Team All-American honors as a senior and was a key contributor to teams that appeared in four consecutive BCS bowl games, including Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl championship victories.
