At Stanford: Enters the 2001 season as Stanford's bona fide starting quarterback ... After playing a backup role for three years, Fasani became the Cardinal's starter in 2000 and, despite being slowed by injuries, started eight games and showed signs of becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the Pacific-10 Conference ... He is a tremendous athlete - perhaps the best on the team - with great size and speed and leadership skills for the quarterback position ... He came to Stanford in 1997 out of Del Oro High School as one of the top prep quarterbacks in the nation ... He was a reserve quarterback for the Cardinal from '97-99, but his athleticism forced the coaching staff to find a place for him to play ... He wound up playing some tight end in 1998 as well as being the team's goal-line quarterback ... In '99, Randy found playing time at tight end, at inside linebacker and on special teams ... Tremendous team player ... Can make big plays both as a passer and runner ... Proved in 2000 that his ability to run the ball added a key element to the Cardinal offense ... Has played in 21 games at quarterback for the Cardinal, with all eight starts coming in 2000.

The 2000 Season:In his fourth year in the Cardinal football program, Randy became Stanford's starting quarterback in 2000 ... He did, however, start only eight games while suffering through an injury-riddled season ... He missed three full games and parts of two others due to injury ... Still, he managed to post impressive numbers and lead his team to five wins in his eight starts ... He finished the season completing 93-of-180 for 1,400 yards and 11 touchdowns ... He also rushed for a net of 156 yards and two touchdowns ... Third on the team with 55 rushing attempts ... He had a tremendous impact on the Cardinal offense when healthy ... In his eight starts, the Cardinal offense averaged 29.75 points, 396 yards in total offense, 250 yards passing and 146 yards rushing ... In the three games in which Fasani did not play, those averages dipped to 7.6 points, 320 yards in total offense, 201 yards passing and 119 yards rushing ... He turned in some outstanding performances during the season, including a 373-yard passing effort in his second start vs. San Jose State ... That total put him 20th on Stanford's list of the highest single game passing totals in school history ... He also threw for four touchdowns against the Spartans, tying him with several others for eighth on Stanford's single game chart ... Against eventual Pac-10 champion Washington, he engineered drives of 64-, 58- and 48-yards in the final six minutes to erase a 24-6 deficit ... Also capped two of those drives with touchdown runs of 4- and 2-yards ... In the Big Game vs. Cal, he threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner to fullback Casey Moore on the first play of overtime ... Named honorable mention Academic All-Pac-10.

The 1999 Season: Started the season as the team's No. 3 QB, but was switched to linebacker in week #7 at USC in order to get his athleticism on the field ... Also played tight end, and saw a lot of time on special teams ... First worked out at inside linebacker on Oct. 19 and played four plays on Oct. 23 at USC ... He continued to play ILB for the remainder of the season ... As a quarterback, he completed 1-of-6 passes for 13 yards and rushed four times for 11 yards ... Named Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac-10.

The 1998 Season: Randy received his first collegiate experience in 1998, but not all of it was as a quarterback ... He completed 8-of-16 passes for 81 yards and one touchdown as a backup QB ... He was Stanford's goal-line quarterback ... Randy also lined up at tight end on occasion and caught two passes for 48 yards ... As the Cardinal's goal-line QB, Randy scored three touchdowns - all on short runs - to tie for the team lead ... He scored two TDs vs. Washington State on runs of 1- and 2-yards ... His other touchdown came on a one-yard run at Notre Dame ... He caught a 32-yard pass vs. Arizona State and a 16-yarder vs. Cal ... His most extensive playing time at QB occurred at Notre Dame when he completed 4-of-8 for 58 yards.The 1997 Season: Redshirted the '97 campaign as a backup quarterback.

In High School: Generally considered to be the top prep quarterback prospect in the nation in 1996 ... Randy captured all the accolades as the premier high school quarterback in the country ... He was named the #1 QB in the nation by Parade Magazine, PrepStar and SuperPrep ... Also named First-Team All-American by USA Today, Schutt Sports and Reebok ... SuperPrep named him the #1 recruit in the nation ... PrepStar named him to its "Dream Team" as well ... Tom Lemming's Report ranked him as the #7 recruit in the country ... Named the National High School Quarterback of the Year by the QB Club in Washington, D.C. ... Named to the Tacoma News Tribune's Western Top-100 ... As a senior at Del Oro HS, Randy completed 132-of-249 for 2,452 yards and 30 TDs ... As a junior, he completed 106-of-173 for 1,962 yards and 16 TDs ... For his career, he completed 296-of-542 for 5,299 yards and 53 touchdowns and he rushed for 654 yards and 16 more TDs ... Two-time First-Team All-State (medium schools) selection and two-time league MVP ... Named the California State Player of the Year for medium schools following his senior season ...
