The Opening Kickoff
- Stanford football remains at home for its second game of the 2026 season, welcoming No. 7 Miami on Friday night. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. PT and is televised nationally on ESPN.
- The Cardinal won 37-27 in Week 0 over Hawai'i in the head-coaching debut of Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football Tavita Pritchard. It was Stanford's first season-opening win since 2023, also against Hawai'i.
- Stanford has been strong inside Stanford Stadium, going 4-2 in home games in 2025, the program's best record at home since 2018. Dating back to 2024, Stanford is 6-2 in its last eight home games.
- The offense found its rhythm in the season opener against Hawai'i. Stanford put up 483 yards of total offense without a turnover, the first time doing so in a regulation win since the 2017 College Football Sydney Cup against Rice.
- Speaking of Davis Warren, it was a terrific Stanford debut for the sixth-year signal caller from Manhattan Beach, Calif. He threw for 310 yards with a touchdown and zero turnovers, the first Stanford quarterback to do so in a season opener since Andrew Luck did so in 2010 against Sacramento State. Warren was the only FBS quarterback to throw for 300+ yards in Week 0. Warren earned Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week on the heels the first game.
- Micah Ford put on a show during Stanford's win against Hawai'i. The junior running back ran for 99 yards, with 85 at halftime, and scored three times, the only FBS running back to rush for multiple touchdowns in Week 0. He is the first Cardinal running back with 90+ rushing yards and three touchdowns in a game since Bryce Love did so in 2017. He was named ACC Running Back of the Week following the performance.
- After Stanford's defense returned three fumbles for touchdowns a year ago, tied for the most in college football, Tevarua Tafiti added a scoop-and-score against Hawai'i. This was Stanford's second impact play from defense and special teams, after Charlie Eckhardt blocked a punt in the end zone that went for a safety, Stanford's first safety since 2018.
- Friday's game marks the first of two Friday night games on The Farm, the first time since 2012 that Stanford has had multiple Friday night home games in one season.
