No. 2 Stanford Sweeps Washington to Open 2026 MPSF Championship

No. 2 Cardinal clinches 35th win of the season, advances to face No. 5 USC in winner’s bracket

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – No. 2/No. 1-seed Stanford opened its 2026 MPSF Championship run with a sweep, defeating No. 8 seed Washington, 3-0, Thursday at Spiker Beach.

The Cardinal’s win was its 35th of the season.

Stanford took control early, winning the first set on four of five courts. Senior Kelly Belardi and Avery Jackson secured the first dual point with a 21-17, 21-15 victory over Washington’s Hohenauer/Pantovic on court one. Juniors Brooke Rockwell and Ruby Sorra followed with a 21-19, 21-13 win on court two against Tyus/Wilcock. Sophomores Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher clinched the match on court three, 21-16, 21-19, over Egan/Tomasova.

With the win, the Cardinal advances in the winner’s bracket and will face No. 5 USC at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, April 23. Live scoring updates will be available on Statbroadcast and live streaming will be accessible on B1G+.
