Molly Gray Earns ACC Bronze

Gray becomes Stanford's highest placer in the 3-meter dive since 2022

ATLANTA - No. 2 Stanford women's swimming & diving kicked off the 2026 ACC Championships with diving competition on Sunday afternoon, as Molly Gray placed third in the 3-meter dive.

Competing at her first conference championships, Gray finished third in the morning prelims with a score of 329.65 to advance to the finals. Her opening dive, an inward 2½ somersault pike, produced the highest score of the first round with a 57.00, and Gray showed consistency throughout the session with five dives scoring above 55 to reach the eight-woman final.

Gray's consistency translated to the 3-meter final, as the freshman delivered three strong dives down the stretch - a reverse 2 1/2 somersault pike (60.00), a reverse 1 1/2 somersault 2 1/2 twist free (56.55), and a forward 2 1/2 somersault 1 twist pike (55.50) - to secure the ACC bronze with 318.65.

Gray's third-place effort marks Stanford's highest finish in the ACC era, and the program’s best conference placement overall since Caroline Sculti won the Pac-12 title in 2022.

Emilie Moore also competed Sunday, posting a 276.10 in the prelims. Her performance included a 69.00 on a forward 2½ somersault with one twist pike on her final dive, finishing just outside the top eight with an 11-place effort.

After the first day of competition, Stanford sits second in the team standings with 56 points, four points behind leader, Miami. ACC Championship action resumes on Monday with the 1-meter dive.
