Stanford Duo Dominates ACC Honors Again

Roberts and Bărbosu lauded by the ACC for the second and third consecutive weeks, respectively

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second consecutive week, senior Anna Roberts and freshman Ana Bărbosu were honored with weekly awards from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), the league announced Tuesday. Roberts was named ACC Gymnast of the Week for the second straight week, while Bărbosu’s honor is her third in as many meets this season.

Stanford’s decisive victory over No. 16 Clemson was guided by the duo of Roberts and Bărbosu, who tied for the all-around title with matching scores of 39.450. It marked Roberts’ second consecutive all-around crown and Bărbosu’s second all-around title in just three collegiate meets.

Roberts leads all ACC gymnasts and is currently ranked second in the nation in the all-around competition with an average score of 39.525. Against Clemson, she also claimed the vault title with a score of 9.900, which is a half-tenth higher than any other gymnast in the meet achieved. She has a Stanford team-leading five event titles in just three meets this season and is the only ACC gymnast to hold top-10 rankings on all four apparatuses, as well as the all-around, in 2026.

Bărbosu has quickly made her mark in NCAA gymnastics, earning at least one event or all-around title (including ties) in each meet of the 2026 season.  Against Clemson, she set new career-best scores on vault (9.850), floor (9.925), and in the all-around competition (39.450), tying for the best all-around total by an ACC gymnast in this week's conference duals. While two other first-year gymnasts are among the top-10 NCAA all-around rankings, Bărbosu stands out as the only newcomer to rank within the top-10 while competing in the all-around in all her appearances this season.

Alongside earning conference weekly honors for the second consecutive week, Roberts and Bărbosu are currently the NCAA’s No. 2 and No. 7 all-around competitors, making Stanford one of only two schools in the nation with multiple all-arounders in the top 10, alongside current No. 3 Alabama.

The Cardinal has a quick turnaround before its next meet, welcoming No. 20 California to The Farm for a Friday night conference dual meet set for 7 p.m. The meeting of the Bay Area competitors will be streamed on ACC Network Extra with Casey Magnuson and Jenna Becerra on the call.
