STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford women’s lacrosse continues to rake in the postseason accolades with sophomore’s Aliya Polisky and Ava Arceri and senior Sophia Brindisi being named to USA Lacrosse All-American teams, the organization announced Thursday. Polisky garnered Third Team honors while Arceri and Brindisi find their names as Honorable Mentions.
Now a two-time All-American, Polisky continues to display her dominance on the field this season, setting a new career high in goals (59) which sits second all-time for goals in a single-season in program history while her 138 shots sets a new single-season record. A USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention a year ago, Polisky was named to the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Third Team heading into 2025 and earned USA Lacrosse Player of the Week kudos on February 11 following her seven-goal outing to start the season against No. 22 USC in what was an 18-6 Cardinal win.
The Tennessee native leads the Cardinal this season with her 59 goals and 75 points while also recording a career-high 15 hat tricks in 19 games in 2025. Having recorded a hat trick in six of the last eight games for the Cardinal, Polisky notched six goals in the ACC Tournament and had one of her biggest scoring performances of the season against No. 4 Yale as the sophomore deposited five goals for the Cardinal in an 11-10 win at Cagan Stadium.
Arceri claims her first All-American nod as a USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention following a remarkable 2025 campaign that continues into the weekend. Arceri sits second on the Cardinal in scoring with 52 goals and 70 points to her name - both of which are career-high’s. An All-ACC Third Team selection and Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Honorable Mention, Arceri has scored in every game this season for the Cardinal including a four-goal performance against No. 2 Boston College in the ACC Tournament two weeks ago.
A native of St. James, N.Y., Arceri has also been dominant on the draw circle, earning 47 draw controls this season which sits third entering NCAA Postseason play. Arceri was also named the ACC Player of the week on March 4 after a nine-point weekend that saw Stanford secure its first ACC home win in a 16-12 decision over Pitt before rattling off the game-winning goal in the 14-13 win over Villanova.
An Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Honorable Mention, Brindisi has had a breakout season on defense for the Cardinal, appearing in all 19 games so far while tallying 20 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls. An All-ACC Second Team selection, the defender has been a stalwart for the Cardinal defense that sits 11th in the nation in scoring defense and top 25 in caused turnovers and ground balls per game.
Brindisi was named an ACC Defensive Player of the Week on April 8 after a career outing against Notre Dame, earning three ground balls and four caused turnovers as the Cardinal earned an 8-7 win over the FIghting Irish on the road. Her 20 caused turnovers sets a new career-high for the Massachusetts native as she anchors a defensive corps that has limited opposing offenses to 10 goals or less on 12 occasions.
Stanford is back in action on Friday, May 9, taking on the No. 22 Denver Pioneers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Opening draw from Donald R. Dizney Stadium Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
