STANFORD, Calif. - USA Swimming has announced its nominees for the 2024 Golden Goggle Awards, as Torri Huske and Greg Meehan each earned nominations following standout performances at the Paris Olympic Games.
The annual awards show, which is in its 21st year, celebrates the swim season’s top accomplishments by American athletes with special emphasis this year put on Olympic performances.
Huske leads the ballot with four nominations after an incredible run that saw her bring home five Olympic medals this year.
The Arlington, Virginia native is in line for Female Athlete of the Year and Female Race of the Year, as well as a pair of nominations in the Relay Performance of the Year.
In turn, Meehan was named a nominee for the Coach of the Year honor, an award given to the coach whose athlete(s) performed at the highest level throughout the year.
Proceeds from the Golden Goggle Awards benefit the USA Swimming Foundation, whose mission is to Save Lives, Build Champions, and Impact Communities. In addition to providing learn-to-swim grants and community impact grants to programs across the country, the USA Swimming Foundation supports the U.S. National Team and its development efforts aimed at strengthening the future of USA Swimming’s programs and services.
Voting for the 2024 Golden Goggle Awards runs through October 17, with the awards ceremony taking place November 23 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
