ATHENS, Ga. – Stanford capped off the 2024 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with a fifth-place finish in the team standings, scoring 250 points over the four-day event.
This is the Cardinal's ninth top-five finish under head coach Greg Meehan, as Stanford remains the only program in women's swimming to never finish outside the top ten at a national meet.
The final day of competition kicked off with the 1650 free final, as Aurora Roghair shaved five seconds off her previous personal best to finish as the national runner-up with a time of 15:41.11. The Iowa City, Iowa native finished just under four seconds off the pace of national champion Abby McCulloh of Georgia.
Stanford had a pair of representatives in the 100 free "B' final, as Amy Tang finished 12th overall in the event with a 47.68 with teammate Gigi Johnson finished close behind in 14th place with a 47.85.
In the 200 fly, the Cardinal collected a trio of All-Americans, headlined by Lillie Nordmann who qualified for the "A" final en route to an eighth-place finish with a 1:52.83. Lucy Bell came away victorious in the consolation final with a 1:52.63 to place ninth, while Charlotte Hook placed 13th overall with a 1:53.90.
In the platform dive, Emilie Moore finished 39th overall with a 204.60 cumulative score while Lauren Burch placed 43rd with a 170.75. Stanford did not have a competitor in the 200 back and 200 breast finals.
The full weekend of action ended with the 400 free relay, as Gigi Johnson, Lillie Nordmann, Anna Shaw, and Amy Tang clocked a 3:10.57 to finish seventh in the nation in the event.
