REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – No. 13 Stanford men's rowing won five out of six races this weekend at the Pac-12 Invite, taking all three varsity eight races, racing No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 11 Boston and No. 6 Northeastern at Redwood Shores.
"I am so proud of the way the team raced this weekend," said the Farwell Family Director of Men's Rowing Ted Sobolewski. "We've been through a lot over the past couple of years, and there a lot of people who are close to our program who've continued to believe in our ability to be a great team. It's just one weekend of racing, and there is no doubt we have more work to do, but we're going to take a minute to enjoy all the work that's gone into the results we saw on the water this weekend. The strength of our program is in the athletes we have on the team. I have so much belief in them as human beings. It will be fun to get back to work with them this week."
The Cardinal started the weekend with a varsity eight victory over Boston on Saturday, followed by a four second win over Wisconsin. To wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Stanford beat Northeastern by four seconds.
