EUGENE, Ore. -- The No. 8 Stanford Cardinal had a tough showing on Saturday, falling to the No. 25 Oregon Ducks by final score of 8-1.
Freshman Matt Scott (5-1) got the ball to start for Stanford (22-10, 10-4) and took the loss. Freshman Toran O'Harran was a bright spot for the Cardinal, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
Junior Carter Graham led the way offensively for the Cardinal, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with an RBI. Sophomore Braden Montgomery put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinal was trailing 5-0 in the sixth inning when it first put runs on the board. Stanford got an RBI single from Graham, scoring senior Owen Cobb from third base. The Cardinal was unable to get any closer, as Oregon added three runs to its tally on the way to an 8-1 final.
