Stanford men's head coach Tyrone Willingham:

On getting the first win of the season:
"We're very thankful to get our first victory of the year. Anytime you win that first one and look good, it's a good feeling for everyone. You get excited to play that first game but obviously there are some things we still need to work on."

On Randy Fasani's play:
Randy did some good things, but there are still some areas where we can improve. I'll have to go back and look at it, but he made some big plays- some things that were very natural and he proved that he can be the leader of our offense."

On the defense:
For us to be successful tonight, our defense had to contain William Green. I'm not sure what he finished with, but I think at some points we were doing an excellent job of limiting his yardage. If we were to allow them to get their running game going, they become a very potent offense."

On the blocked punt:
"We expect to get great plays from our special teams and defense. Anytime you can get a spark or a big play, it increases everyone's enthusiasm."

Stanford quarterback Randy Fasani:

On his play:
"I was disappointed with my performance in the first half, but we stepped it up in the second and did well. I felt like the game was going 100mph, and I think I probably had some first game jitters and I shouldn't have any because I'm a fifth-year senior.

On Boston College's defense:
"They blitzed a lot and did a good job with their pressure. We didn't pick up a lot of them and I was getting hit. I could have checked protection or scrambled a little more, but I have to give them credit for pressuring me a lot.

On receiver Ryan Wells:
"He was making plays and that began to soften the defense up a little. We also started to move the ball better because they were taking their safety blitzes out of the picture."

Stanford wide receiver Ryan Wells:

On his second TD catch:
"That was very important because they were starting to get some momentum after they scored and everyone was looking around. I think when I scored that second touchdown we began to get some of our momentum back. Our confidence was high and we knew we were going to finish the game."

Stanford wide receiver Teyo Johnson:

On the fade pass he caught for a TD:
"We work on it a lot in practice and it's usually a pretty good play. It's a safe play to run and we can take advantage of it with me being 6'7" and being able to jump a little bit. It's a no-brainer."

Boston College Head Coach Tom O'Brien

On the team's performance:
"We got beat pretty good tonight. We did not play well fundamentally on either side of the ball and we could not contain Stanford's quarterback. We did not tackle very well on defense and we are not blocking well up front. That is my fault, we are not a very fundamental football team. That comes back to me and we will go back to practice this week and we are going to learn how to tackle and learn how to block. We will see if we can be a better football team by the time we play again."

On Stanford quarterback Randy Fasani:
"I would say that he is an excellent quarterback. We could not contain him tonight. He makes people bounce off and he made the plays. That is the sign of a big league quarterback."

On the Boston College defense and offense:
"We did not tackle well at all. Offensively, I think we did not do well. We had trouble blocking them up front and our quarterback almost got killed a couple of times. Our past protection was awful, it was not a very good operation."

On Boston College quarterback Brian St. Pierre's performance:
"I don't know, he was on his back and getting killed. It is hard to throw when you are on your back."

On Stanford's defensive front:
"We just were not able to block them. They are an experienced, big strong group. With eleven seniors starting on their defense, that is a good deal. They have been around and played a lot. They are a good defensive team."

On improving week to week:
"As far as improving week to week, I just don't know. We did not play good, fundamental football and that is not good on my part."
